Six Basins Project
This vital off-road project provides education through signage, improved sanitation in current restroom sites, as well as the establishment of new restroom sites, and potential funding of law enforcement on County Road 361.
Ouray Trail Group
Founded in 1986 and dedicated to the preservation and safe public use of Ouray County’s 84 mapped and maintained hiking trails. Ouray Trail Group members take a stewardship role in protecting, preserving, and maintaining the natural and recreational resources we all enjoy.
Mountain Air Music Series
Mountain Air Music, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization committed to organizing and facilitating economic performances events and programs, along with supporting the development of public facilities in Ouray, CO to further the community’s engagement with the arts. Over the past four years Mountain Air Music, Inc. has contributed to improving Fellin Park’s public facilities and the organization looks forward to establishing a music education scholarship program.
Second Chance Humane Society
Second Chance Humane Society serves Ouray through animal control assistance services, animal impound services for the City, feral cat services and affordable spay/neuter, veterinary care for residents and visitors to the City of Ouray, emergency planning and housing for families and visitors with pets, food and medical care to pets of low-income families, including emergency financial situations like we faced during the pandemic and recent wildfires. Second Chance Thrift Shop provides a critical service to Ouray through the opportunity to recycle and repurpose clothing, furniture, and other household items, saving thousands of pounds from the landfills every year and keeping our region one that will attract visitors for years to come.
Ouray Mountain Rescue Team
Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere. An all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives by performing back-country searches and rescues and fostering safe outdoor practices through education.
The Wright Opera House
The Friends of the Wright Opera House are dedicated to restoring and preserving the 1888 historic Wright Opera House, providing a venue for quality arts, education, and social events, thus contributing to the economic and cultural vitality of the Ouray area.
City of Ouray Wayfinder’s Signage Project
The City of Ouray has embarked on developing a master wayfinding signage plan and program complete with analysis, system design, documentation, specifications, and implementation for various forms of signage. The program will define the types and design of the signs, where they should be located based on traffic, parking patterns, and other determining factors, when the signs should be used (seasonal), and the necessary information to ease and direct traffic and pedestrian traffic.
